Por medio de la presente, el Comité Organizador del XVIII Congreso Internacional de Ortodoncia, a realizarse en la ciudad de Santiago entre los días 16 y 18 de noviembre de 2022, quiere invitar a todos los socios de las diferentes Sociedades de Ortodoncia, tanto de Chile como de países miembros de ALADO, así como a los alumnos de los Programas de Especialización en Ortodoncia de las distintas universidades del país y extranjeras, a participar en este evento mediante la presentación de Póster.

Esta participación podrá ser de manera individual o grupal en calidad de representante de alguna Universidad o Servicio de Salud.

Señores miembros de las Sociedades de Ortodoncia, de Chile y países vecinos, y alumnos de la Especialidad.

Por medio de la presente, el Comité Organizador del XVIII Congreso Internacional de Ortodoncia, a realizarse en la ciudad de Santiago entre los días 16 y 18 de noviembre de 2022, quiere invitar a todos los socios de las diferentes Sociedades de Ortodoncia, tanto de Chile como de países miembros de ALADO, así como a los alumnos de los Programas de Especialización en Ortodoncia de las distintas universidades del país y extranjeras, a participar en este evento mediante la presentación de Póster.

Esta participación podrá ser de manera individual o grupal en calidad de representante de alguna Universidad o Servicio de Salud.

Los interesados en presentar un poster a este Congreso deberán enviar un resumen utilizando el formulario que estará disponible en el sitio web oficial del Congreso.

La fecha tope para enviar el formulario a través de la página será el 30 de agosto de 2022

REGLAMENTO DE PRESENTACIÓN DE POSTERES CIENTÍFICOS:

1. Se podrán enviar resúmenes en cualquiera de los siguientes tipos de trabajo:

• Trabajos de Investigación
• Casos Clínicos
• Revisiones de literatura

2. El póster puede ser realizado por cualquier profesional del área de la salud en algún tema de interés para la ortodoncia.

3. Cada resumen deberá consignar solamente un autor y hasta 4 coautores. Ya sea en calidad de autor o coautor, solamente se podrá participar hasta en un máximo de 2 trabajos.

4. Los autores y coautores deben identificarse con el nombre y los dos apellidos.

5. Si se trata de un Trabajo de Investigación o de una Revisión de literatura, el resumen debe tener un máximo de 300 palabras y deberá incluir:

• Título:
• Autor:
• Coautores:
• Institución que representa
• Introducción
• Objetivos
• Metodología
• Resultados
• Discusión
• Conclusiones

6. Si es un Caso Clínico, el resumen debe tener un máximo de 350 palabras y deberá incluir:

• Título
• Autor:
• Coautores:
• Institución que representa
• Introducción
• Descripción del caso clínico
• Comentario
• Conclusiones

Recuerde mantener el anonimato del paciente: sin nombres de pacientes o información que permita su identificación.

7. No se aceptarán resúmenes presentados o enviados a otros Congresos.

8. Una vez recepcionados los resúmenes, el Comité Científico del Congreso efectuará, en forma inapelable, una selección de ellos, de manera de escoger a los mejores trabajos. El día 30 de septiembre de 2022 se comunicará, a cada autor, la aceptación o rechazo del resumen enviado.

9. Los resúmenes aceptados participarán en el Concurso de Póster del Congreso. Una Comisión Examinadora constituida especialmente para este fin, determinará un tercer, segundo y primer lugar de este Concurso, en cada uno de los 3 tipos de trabajos.

10. A los autores cuyos trabajos hayan sido seleccionados se le solicitará el envío de un archivo Power Point o PDF (no más de 8MB), con formato de diapositiva panorámica (16:9), equivalente a 19,05 cm. de alto y 33,867 cm. de ancho o archivo JPG de 1920 x 1080 en formato horizontal con calidad de 150 puntos por pulgada cuadrada, con un máximo de cuatro diapositivas que represente, de la manera más exacta, el póster que será presentado finalmente en el Congreso. El objetivo de este requerimiento es que la Comisión Examinadora, cuente con el tiempo necesario para evaluar y seleccionar, de la manera más objetiva, a los mejores pósteres presentados. Los archivos deberán enviarse a la Secretaría de la Sociedad de Ortodoncia de Chile (info@sortchile.cl) a partir del mes de junio hasta el 30 de septiembre de 2022.

11. La aceptación del resumen implica la obligación del autor de presentar su poster en el Congreso de manera virtual o presencial, previa inscripción en este certamen antes del 7 de noviembre de 2022.

12. Solo se entregará certificado de participación en el congreso al autor/ coautor que esté inscrito en el Congreso (virtual o presencial)

13. Especificaciones

• El formato del poster será para ser presentado on-line, de modo que será el siguiente: Archivo Power Point, con diapositiva Pantalla panorámica (16:9) 19,05 cm. de alto y 33,867 cm. de ancho o archivo JPG de 1920 x 1080 Horizontal con calidad de 150 puntos por pulgada cuadrada. Podrán tener un máximo de tres o máximo cuatro diapositivas que se irán pasando de forma automática, con una duración de 30 segundos a 1 minuto por cada una. Los presentadores podrán añadir a cada diapositiva una grabación de voz (4 minutos como máximo en total del archivo). Para la evaluación se enviará a un organizador y luego a una persona que revisará el póster.

• Los pósteres que no se ajusten a esta especificación no podrán ser exhibidos.

• Se seleccionarán 60 posters en formato digital y cinco de ellos deberán ser presentados ante la comisión evaluadora, de forma presencial. Para ello deberán cambiar de formato y preparar uno en formato físico de 120 cms. de alto y 90 cms vertical, que deberán imprimir en alta calidad.

14. El autor (o algún coautor) del poster deberá estar dispuesto a responder las preguntas de los congresistas que los visiten virtualmente durante los días del congreso.

15. La premiación se realizará el viernes 18 de noviembre de 2022. El lugar y hora será comunicado oportunamente.

16. No se permitirá publicidad de productos en el póster.

17. Los presentadores deben asegurarse de que sus carteles digitales estén libres de cualquier contenido (ya sea oral o visual) que puedan percibirse como discriminatorias o despectivas.

18. Los participantes de la categoría “póster” autorizan a la SOCIEDAD DE ORTODONCIA DE CHILE a copiar, exhibir, publicar o distribuir de manera electrónica/física el material (imágenes, textos y grabaciones) con el fin de archivar o difundir en actividades de la Sociedad o para cualquier otro propósito lícito de utilidad pública, a condición de que no se altere el original y se mencione la autoría correspondiente.

Por tanto, de cumplirse lo estipulado, se exime y exonera indefinidamente a la SOCIEDAD DE ORTODONCIA DE CHILE de cualquier reclamo, exigencias o demandas que pueda tener el autor o coautores y/o cualquier otra persona que represente o actúe en su nombre por motivo de esta autorización.

XVIII Congreso Internacional de Ortodoncia de Chile

The Organizational Committee of the XVIII International Orthodontics Conference, to be held in the city of Santiago from the 16th to the 18th of November of 2022, would like to invite all the members of the Orthodontics Societies, including that of Chile as well as those of the countries involved in ALADO, in addition to the orthodontics students in the various universities in Chile and around the world, to participate in this event with a poster presentation.

This participation can be individual or in a group as a representative of a university or health service.

Those interested in presenting a poster at this conference should submit an abstract through the form available on the official conference website.

The deadline to submit the form on the website is August 30, 2022.

Guidelines for the Presentation of Scientific Posters:

1. You can send the abstract for any of the following types of projects:

• Research
• Clinical Cases
• Literature Reviews

2. The poster can be presented by any healthcare professional on a topic of interest to orthodontics.

3. Each abstract should have only one author and up to 4 coauthors. A person can only participate as an author or coauthor in a maximum of 2 papers.

4. The authors and coauthors must identify themselves with their name and last name.

5. If the poster pertains to a research project or literature review, the abstract can have a maximum of 300 words and should include:

• Title
• Author
• Coauthors
• Institution they represent
• Introduction
• Objectives
• Methods
• Results
• Discussion
• Conclusion

6. If the poster pertains to a clinical case, it can have a maximum of 350 words and should include:

• Title
• Author
• Coauthor
• Institution they represent
• Introduction
• Description of the case
• Comments
• Conclusions

Remember to maintain patient anonymity. Do not include the name of the patient or any identifying information.

7. Abstracts that have been presented or submitted to other conferences will not be accepted.

8. Once all the abstracts have been submitted, the Conference´s Scientific Committee will carry out an impartial selection process, in order to choose the best projects. On September 30, 2022, the secretary of the Chilean Orthodontics Society will notify each author of the acceptance or rejection of their abstract.

9. The accepted abstracts will participate in the Conference´s Poster Contest. A panel of judges assembled especially for this purpose will determine the third, second and first place winners for this contest for each of the 3 types of projects.

10. The authors whose projects have been selected will be asked to send a PowerPoint or PDF (no more than 8 MB) file, with the format of panoramic slides (16:9), equivalent to 19.05 cm in length and 33.867 cm in width or a JPG file in horizontal form with the dimensions 1920 x 1080 and the quality of 150 dots per inch, with a maximum of four slides and the most exact representation of how the poster will be presented at the conference. The purpose of this requirement is so that the panel of judges will have the time necessary to objectively evaluate and select the best posters. The files should be submitted to the secretary of the Chilean Orthodontics Society (info@sortchile.cl) between the beginning of June until September 14, 2022.

11. The acceptance of the abstract to the contest implies that the author must present their poster at the conference, virtually or in person. Once the poster has been accepted, the author must register to attend the conference before November 7, 2022.

12. The author or coauthor must be registered for the conference (virtually or in person) to receive their participation certificate.

13. Specifications for the presentation of the poster

• The poster should be formatted for an online presentation, adhering to the following guidelines: PowerPoint file with panoramic slides (16:9), 19.05 cm in length and 33.867 cm in width or a JPG file in horizontal form with the dimensions 1920 x 1080 and the quality of 150 dots per inch. It can have between 3 and 4 slides that can be changed automatically and each having a duration of 30 seconds to 1 minute. The presenters can include a voice recording in each slide (A maximum of 4 minute for the whole file). For the evaluation, send the presentation to an organizer and then to someone who can revise the poster.
• Posters that do not adhere to these guidelines cannot be displayed.
• 60 digitally formatted posters will be selected and 5 of those will be presented before the panel of judges, in-person. For those that will presented in-person, the formatting of the poster should be adjusted to 120 cm in length and 90 cm in width, and must be printed in high quality.

14. The author (or coauthor) of the poster must be available to answer the questions of the attendees who watched the presentation virtually during the days of the conference.

15. The award ceremony will be held on Friday November 18, 2022. The place and time will be communicated closer to the date.

16. Product advertising will not be permitted on the poster.

17. Virtual presenters must make sure that their digital poster does not include content (oral or visual) that may be perceived as discriminatory or derogatory.

18. The participants in the poster category authorize the Chilean Orthodontics Society to copy, display, publish or distribute, electronically or physically, the material (images, text and recordings) with the purpose of filing or disseminating the activities of the society or for any other lawful purpose of public use, on the condition that they do not alter the original poster and that they mention the corresponding authorship.

Therefore, by adhering to the stipulations, the Chilean Orthodontics Society is indefinitely exempted and exonerated of any claim or demand that the author or coauthor may have or any other person representing or acting in their name for the purpose of authorization.
